The 2013 Ford Escape Redesigned

The Ford Escape gets its first full redesign for the 2013 model year since its introduction in 2001. While the Escape previously had siblings from Mazda and the now-defunct Mercury, it now stands alone as the smaller of Ford’s five-seat SUVs. The Ford Edge is midsize.
The Escape’s standard engine is an upgraded version of the existing 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which is projected to generate 168 horsepower. The biggest news is the introduction of two optional EcoBoost turbocharged engines: a 173-hp 1.6-liter and a 237-hp 2.0-liter, both also four-cylinders. The V-6 will not be continued.  All the engines team with a six-speed automatic.

The Escape takes a styling direction different from the other Ford SUVs, sharing cues from the company’s Fiesta and Focus cars instead.  The cabin quality has improved, with a soft-touch dashboard, deeper armrest padding and hidden fasteners in storage compartments and the like.  The Escape offers the Sync voice-activation system, which includes Bluetooth phone connectivity and integrated control of an MP3 player. Also included is MyFord Touch, which provides multiple means of controlling features. Ford says this is the latest iteration of MyFord Touch with faster reaction times and clearer labeling on the 8-inch touch-screen that’s standard on SEL and Titanium trim levels.

Time for your Car’s Spring Tuneup

Spring has sprung in Manchester NH as well as in much of the country. Its the time of year when we plan vacation trips, and get excited about summer road trips. While you may be focused on places to go and places to stay, a very important step is to thing about scheduling your vehicle’s tune-up.

With gas prices expected to rise in most of the country during the key summer driving season, good car maintenance now is all the more important.  There are things you can do to keep your car running efficiently, and you can squeeze out a few more miles to the gallon.  For example, a vehicle’s air filter is very important because it keeps dust and dirt out of fuel system, so if it’s dirty is can decrease gas mileage. Another way to better your fuel efficiency is to make sure your tires are in good shape and at the correct tire pressure.

Keeping a car clean, maintaining it according to a manufacturer’s specifications, maintaining good car maintenance records and giving it an “annual physical” can also keep your car in better shape, and maintain its resale value.

Fuel efficient vehicles produced by Ford

Fuel efficient vehicles produced by Ford

Purchasing a vehicle is a task that most of us find daunting.  We end up doing a lot of research and comparing vehicles side by side.  More  and more people are starting to demand vehicles with better fuel economy as gas pries get more expensive.  Ford has made its vehicles come with better fuel economy.  This doesn’t mean that Ford is cutting corners in how the make their cars just to succeed in the task.  They actually re-tool the vehicles so each of them get better fuel economy.  As to back this statement up, Ford offers the most fuel-efficient SUV on the market, the Ford Escape Hybrid.  In the future, Ford will shift more to a lineup of smaller cars and will introduce a combination of turbocharging and direct injection technologies to deliver better fuel efficiency at an affordable price.  As of now, Ford has many vehicles that have great fuel mileage.  Check this out here or go back to AutoFair Ford.
