The 2013 C-MAX Hybrid is an all-new five passenger MAV (multi-activity vehicle) hybrid, the 2013 C-MAX Energi is the first production plug-in hybrid from Ford. Many advantages come with owning a hybrid, such as battery recharging (when utilizing the gas engine and regenerative braking) and the powersplit hybrid architecture–which allows the gas engine to work with the electric motor to maximize efficiency. The main difference between the C-MAX Hybrid and the C-MAX Energi is the plug-in capability. The C-MAX Energi has an external charge port and a larger state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery than the C-MAX Hybrid, for an electric-only driving experience. The vehicle can fully charge overnight using a standard 120V outlet or in under three hours using a 240V charging station outlet. Both the C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi have a new 2.0L hybrid I-4 powertrain that is combined with the electric motor to generate a projected 188 total system horsepower, delivering the responsive power you want when you need it.

Drive an all-new Ford Escape, and you can help those fighting hunger. You may at first wonder what the correlation is between a vehicle and a worthy cause, but Ford has a history of melding transportation with hunger relief; it’s just one of the many ways the Blue Oval has supported the community throughout its history. For this effort, Ford is working with the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, Feeding America, for the 2013 Ford Escape Hunger Drive.
Events will take place in many locations across the U.S., and participants will host events where guests can drive, walk around or ride in the Escape. In turn, Ford will provide 40 meals per guest to people at risk of hunger. More than 1.2 million meals total are projected to be provided. These drive-for-charity events could take place anywhere within a supporter’s community. An event could be tied to already-scheduled events at churches, community centers or other civic organizations. Participants in the hunger drive will receive a Ford backpack and automatic entry into a sweepstakes. (Must be 18 years or older. No purchase or test drive necessary to enter. Void where prohibited. Official Sweepstakes Rules — including eligibility, prize details and entry conditions — will be provided with event confirmation.)
